Having been handpicked by Kendrick Lamar on his British tour this summer, songwriter and soul singer Raleigh Ritchie proves his worth with the release of his debut EP The Middle Child.

The Bristolian left home for London aged 16, now 23 he counts Morrissey, Kanye West and David Bowie as his biggest inspirations, mixing sharp candid lyrics with smooth pop/soul sounds to reveal an undertone of darkness. Based on his EP, which includes songs Stay Inside, In Too Deep and A Moor, his debut album, due out in 2013, is definitely one to look out for.
